Ruben Butvilofsky
Nextel Argentina

Ruben Butvilofsky is president of Nextel Argentina which is part of NII Holdings, Inc., a provider of differentiated mobile communication services for businesses and high value consumers in Latin America. With operations in Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Peru and Chile, NII is a Fortune 500 company and trades on the NASDAQ market under the symbol NIHD.

Mr. Butvilofsky joined the company as vice president of commercial operations in 1998. He has provided strategic leadership as president of Nextel Argentina since August 2005, helping give the company a solid market position under his stewardship.

In 2006, Clarin, Argentina’s largest newspaper, included Nextel Argentina in a prestigious corporate ranking based on financial stability, creativity, strategic vision, and customer service. Nextel Argentina was also recognized by The Great Place to Work Institute as one of the top ten places to work in Argentina, received silver recognition in the Ibero-American Quality Awards for outstanding overall quality, and was ranked in Apertura magazine as one of the companies with the best corporate images in Argentina.

Mr. Butvilofsky has vast commercial and management experience and has held national and international positions at well-known companies in the technology and telecommunications sectors. Prior to joining Nextel Argentina, he was sales director at the Argentine operations of Liberty ART, a subsidiary of Liberty Mutual. Previously, he was a direct sales manager for Bellsouth (Movicom) and an indirect channel manager for IBM Argentina.

Mr. Butvilofsky holds a bachelor of science degree in economics from the University of Buenos Aires and has taken specialized courses at various academic institutions in the United States. He is a resident of Buenos Aires, where Nextel Argentina is based.
